  • How are visible light waves used in everyday life?
  • It helps us recognize different colors and objects.

HOW THEY ARE CREATED

  • Visible waves are created through electromagnetic radiation.

HOW IT APPLIES TO SOCIETY

  • Different wavelengths produce different colors perceived by the human eye.
  • Colors are used in everyday life for virtually everything. Ex: stop lights.

POSSIBLE DANGERS

  • Typically not very dangerous but in some cases, the light can be so intense that It can damage the receptor cells in your eye causing temporary or permanent blindness.

WAVELENGTH

  • This specific wave can reach anywhere from 390-700 nm.
  • This can be compared to the size of a single bacteria cell.

FREQUENCY

  • The frequency associated with this wave ranges from 430-770 THz

  • Light takes 1.255 seconds to get from the earth to the moon
