IMPORTANT FEATURES

  • Viruses are resistant to germicides.
  • Viruses are non-cytoplasmic.
  • Viruses are made of nucleon-proteins.

WHERE IT LIVES

  • Viruses can live almost anywhere, from soil to snow to animals.
  • Viruses can only reproduce in a host cell.

HOW IT REPRODUCES

  • First, viruses have to find a host cell.
  • Examples of good host cells are plants and animals.
  • Then, they control the cell to help reproduce the virus.
  • When the virus is finished, the host cell dies.

EXAMPLES OF VIRUSES

  • HIV
  • Shingles
  • Rabies
  • Flu
  • Chicken Pox

HAZARDS

  • Viruses are very deadly and kill cells.
  • Viruses can spread from host to host quickly.
  • Viruses can infect all living things.
  • Viruses have lasting effects.

BENEFITS

  • Viruses can be forced to mutate to further knowledge of evolution.
  • There is a virus that can be mixed with mucus to kill bacteria.
