November 1, 1955

  • The Vietnam War unoffically starts.

JANUARY 27, 1965

  • General Khanh seizes entire government control over South Vietnam.

February 6, 1965

  • The U.S. is attacked by Viet Cong guerrillas that wounded 126
  • and killed 8 Amricans at Pleiku. They also destroyed some U.S aircrafts.

MARCH 9, 1965

  • President Johnson authorizes the use of napalm for the Vietanam War.
  • Napalm is a gas based bomb that showers down explosive pellets.

January 5, 1968

  • Opereation Niagara I begins.
  • It was for mapping positions around Khe Sanh.

January 31, 1968

  • The Tet Offensive is launched by NVA troops and Viet Cong Guerillas.
  • They attacked 100 towns and citties.

FEBUARY 8, 1968

  • At Khe Sanh the NVA kills 21 U.S. Marines.

FEBUARY 28, 1968

  • General Wheeler asks President Johnson for the Mobilization of
  • reserve troops in the U.S. and for 206,000 more troops.

MARCH 2, 1968

  • In Saigon at Tan Son Nhut airport U.S. soldiers get ambushed.
  • 48 U.S. Soldiers are killed.

MARCH 11, 1968

  • In the Saigon Region a 28 day offensive is launched by U.S. and South Vietamese battalions.
  • The offesive was called Operation Quyet Thang.

APRIL 27, 1968

  • 200,000 students in New York protest the Vietanm War by not attending classes.

APRIL 30, 1975

  • The Viet Cong fly their blue and red flag indicating surrender.
  • A message is broadcasted by President Minh of unconditional surrender.
  • This ends the Vietnam War.
