WHO WAS INVOLVED?

  • The war revolved around Americans and the vietnamese.
  • Reason is american advisors were sent into south Vietnam to train their growing army.

WHAT HAPPENED?

THE U.S. WAS SCARED THAT THE SPREAD OF ASIAN COMMUNISM WOULD INCREASE, SO THEY SENT IN MORE AMERICAN ADVISORS INTO VIETNAM.

WHEN DID IT HAPPEN?

  • The war and peace, two nations separated, took place in between 1960-1973.
  • We still remain in south saigon until it falls to communism. (1975)

WHERE DID IT HAPPEN?

  • The war took place mainly in North and South Vietnam.
  • The war eventually spread around areas like Cambodia and Laos.

WHY DID IT HAPPEN?

  • America was scared of communism spreading into Vietnam.
  • We had a containment policy which meant we didn't want it spreading to other countries.

HOW DID IT HAPPEN?

  • The U.S. sent in American advisors, which later caused problems involving communism.
  • During the 1960's over 1.4 million men were drafted.
  • Later in 1965, president Johnson began the air war.
  • Over those next five years the nation became divided by the war.
  • The war between America and Vietnam officially ends in 1973.
