Population

HISTORY

  • The city was founded by Lan Xang (Million Elephants) in the 14th century
  • Was first claimed by the French before the people of Laos declared independence (1953)
  • Laos was overruled by communism in 1975

  • The economy in Laos is rapidly growing (8%)
  • Remains of the poorest counties in the world.
  • One of the fastest growing economy in Asia-Pacific region

  • Women would be very involved with helping and caring for the temple and monks.
  • Men would work jobs (airports, factories, etc.), and farming
