  • The people who fought were German and france
  • German general Erich Von Falkenahyn developed a plan
  • Plan was to attack the fortress city of Verdun

  • Both sides used artillery, grenades, and machine guns
  • Germany had special items like flamethrowers and green cross gas

  • Germany wanted to beat France quickly to move on to Russia
  • France wanted to hold there ground to make Germany fight on two fronts

  • German had planed to secretly attack the french
  • French got word of it but chooses to ignore
  • They were U prepaid for the attack and the Germans won

RESULT

  • The French lost 162,440
  • The Germans lost 143,000
  • Germans won
