VENUS - EARTH'S SISTER

By Dominic Jackson B1y

VENUS HAS VERY SIMILAR MASS AND SIZE AS EARTH

But, this planet is not much like earth at all

VENUS IS A LIFELESS PLANET WITH A DEADLY ATMOSPHERE

It's mostly carbon dioxide which traps in heat, making Venus very hot

THE TEMPERATURES CAN REACH 500 DEGREES CELCIUS

That's hot enough to melt lead!

VENUS ACTUALLY HAS VERY FEW CRATER MARKS.

Scientist believe this is because volcanic eruptions constantly reform it's surface.

VENUS HAS CLODS MADE FROM SULFUR DIOXIDE.

These clouds then rain sulfuric acid.

VENUS GOES THROUGH PHASES LIKE THE MOONS.

Venus can even be so bright, it cast shadows!

ISHTAR ALSO HOLDS THE LARGEST MOUNTAIN RANGE ON VENUS.

Maxwell Monte is a little bigger than Mount. Everest at 11 km.

VENUS HAS NORTH POLES AND SOUTH POLES, JUST LIKE EARTH.

But on Venus the poles are about the same temperature as every where else.

ON THE NORTH POLE THERE IS A AREA OF RISED LAND THAT SCIENTIST CALL CONTINENTS

This continent is named Ishtar terra. It is about the same size as Australia

ANOTHER INTERESTING THING ABOUT VENUS' POLES.

Above each of its poles is a vortex, or tornado.

AS YOU CAN SEE VENUS IS A VERY INTERESTING PLANET.
