  • The capital of venezuela is Caracas

HISTORICAL FACTS ABOUT VENEZUELA

  • Venezuela declared independence on July 5th 1811
  • Although, they had conflicts with sealing their independence
  • With the help of the battles of Carabobo and Maracaibo in 1821 and 1823 they sealed their independence.
  • Collapse of oil prices plus accumulation of debts in the 1980s led the economy to cripple

Stars- the 7 provinces that supported the revolution
Yellow- wealth
Eighth star was introduced because of the 8th province Angostura, modern day Guyana

DR JOSE GREGORIO HERNANDEZ

  • Born on oct 25 1864 to June 29 1919 in Isnotu, Trujillo, Venezuela
  • Physician, studied bacteriology, pathology, microbiology, and histology, a professor
  • Was a very religious and spiritual man and entered priesthood more than once
  • Treated his poor patients for free and went through religious training for 5yrs
  • I believe Jose is worth recognizing because he not only helped people physically but spiritually

TOURIST ATTRACTIONS

  • Angel falls- highest waterfall in the world at 3,287 ft.
  • Mt. Roraima- the Tallest and easiest mountain to climb in their park
  • These attractions are found in the Canaima National Park
