Our vision is
to be the most energetic education and research centre of professional experts in western Finland
OUR MISSION
Our mission is
to create future know-how and to educate experts for the needs of the Vaasa region’s working life.
OUR AREAS OF FOCUS
Our areas of focus are
Technical know-how of energy industry, especially electricity generation, utilization and transmission technologies and information technology with focus on energy industry
Business know-how of export industry, especially the practices of international trade and logistics
The essential basic know-how of social services and health care and promoting the population’s health and well-being
OUR PROFILE
The Vaasa region has the biggest energy technology sector in the Nordic countries. The region produces over 12 % of Finland’s technology export revenues. VAMK operates in this export-oriented and multicultural environment and concentrates on international business know-how, especially as an educator and regional developer specializing in electrical and mechanical engineering. We implement working life based pedagogy in all our focus areas.
