  • Plains that run from the

  • Rocky Mountains.

  • A place along the coast

  • A landform that is like

GREAT PLAINS NATIVE AMERICAN

  • Lived in tepees, painted on buffalo hides
  • Hunted buffalo and drove them of cliffs
  • Used all parts of the buffalo, believed in evil spirits,
  • Learned to catch and breed horses Had medicine men
  • Had beautiful clothing and headdresses

NORTHWEST COAST NATIVE AMERICANS

  • Totem poles in fromt of houses
  • Fished and hunted
  • Made dug out boats from hollowed out cedar trees
  • Went on great whale hunts
  • Traded fish, shells, furs, whale products, masks, jewelry, baskets, copper, and prisoners

SOUTHWEST DESERT NATIVE AMERICANS

  • Anasazi were the first here
  • Lived in adobe cliff houses Did a lot of trading for things they didn't have like shells
  • Made pottery and baskets Later used sheep for food and wool
  • Grew corns and beans Hunted rabbits and deer and used them for clothing and foods
  • Men worked in the fields and hunted while women cooked meals in adobe stoves

EASTERN WOODLANDS NATIVE AMERICANS

  • Lived in teepees and wigwams
  • Often lived next to rivers and lakes
  • Grew corns, beans, squash, pumpkins, sunflower seeds and tobacco
  • Used birch bark to make baskets, wood bowls, instruments, masks, toys and boats
  • Played a game called little war which is like lacrosse Fished and hunted bear, deer, rabbits, moose, and ducks
