Mummies The priest would wear a mask like the god Anubis during the mummifying process. The priest would place the body on a table and let all the fluids go out. After that step, the priest would then take out all the internal organs, except the heart and kidneys. The organs removed were then put in special containers to be buried with the body. Later,they would use Natron to dry out the body and then stuff it with saw dust or linen. After that, they would put wigs, a mask,and makeup on the body. Finally they would wrap the body in linen and bury in the tomb.
Great Sphinx The sphinx actually has it's on riddle which is, "What is the creature that walks on four legs in the morning, two legs at noon and three in the evening?". The great sphinx is located in Giza Plateau at the bank of the Nile River. The Architect is unknown for the Great Sphinx.
God/Goddesses The god Bes was the protector of households. It looked like a hairy man with a a lion mane and pug nose. Babi was the god of wild baboons. His job was to eat the wicked in the underworld. Babi looked like a baboon. Anubis is the god of funerals. His job was to help prepare souls for afterlife. Anubis looked like a man with a jackals head.
Papyrus To make papyrus the Egyptians would first gather the plant. Then they would take the green outside part off. After doing that, they would take the inside part and lay it out. Finally they would smash the layed out pieces together. When it dried, the people could then use it as paper.
Hieroglyphics Hieroglyphics wear a language of symbols. Hieroglyphics was the most famous of all a the ancient Egyptian script languages. It was used to record and use for communication which the ancient Egyptians thought was very important.
Inventions Throughout the Old Kingdom, Middle Kingdom, and New Kingdom, the Egyptians had many inventions. The inventions that we focus on today are the 365 day calendar, papyrus (paper), and government.
Social pyramid At the top would be the pharaoh on the second level was the nobles. Under them came the scribes and craftspeople. Finally at the bottom would be farmers and slaves. Each level was expected to socialize in their own level.
