Julia Brace had a sickness and become Deaf Blind at age five she stopped speaking and made her own signs for her parents

She became deaf as a child

  • Birth place: June13, 1807
  • Born with a poor family at Hartford Country
  • Parents aren't deaf one sibling

sent to a hearing and sighted children before she was offered a place called the American School for the Deaf she was enrolled on June 11 two days before her 18th birthday

  • I think her disability helped her career because she was able to teach others

Interesting Facts

  • She's was kind,gentle to be entrusted with the care of the sick and made an excellent nurse
  • developing skills in sewing
  • died on August 12, 1884 aged 77 She's buried in unmarked grave in the West Hill Cemetery.
