Welcome To Choir!

In choir, we sing

  • we all work together
  • we all share a common goal of creating music together as a choir
  • we all want to learn and present the best performance possible.
  • This is primarily a performance-based class.

There are procedures we follow to help the team work together and function

Wait to be invited into the room

(new this year). This allows for some housekeeping between classes/  ensures we find any personal belongings left behind

Be on time

In your assigned seat, with pencil and music by the tardy bell.

Put cell phones away in the designated area.

Always ask before using your phone.

Restroom! Before the bell, on the way to class.

Don NOT come to class and ask to use the rr.

Each day you will need your supplies!

Sheet Music & Pencil

Keep up with your MUSIC! No replacement copies.

Mark your music!

This keeps us from making the same mistakes. Use only your pencil.

Keep up with your music. Use it. Look at it. Even when it's memorized.

Sit in your assigned seat and section each day.

Do NOT change your seat. It changes our sound.

Please do not move seats

and put them back always where you found them at them end of class. 

SING!

So, you have to sing and try your best. Every. Single. Day.

We never bang on the piano or change any settings. Ever.

Grades

You are graded on how much you contribute to the group

How to make an A

  • Be on time
  • Have and keep up with your music
  • follow, mark, and keep up with your music every day.
  • sing your heart out
  • give your best effort
  • don't distract others
  • pass tests and attend all concerts (summative).

We wear special choir uniforms for our concerts and performances.
