Lonnie David Franklin Jr.
Lonnie David Franklin Jr., aka the "grim sleeper", was a serial killer who murdered at least 10 women and 1 teenager.
Franklin was born on August 30, 1952. He grew up in South Central Los Angeles, was married, and had 2 children. On July 24, 1975, he was given a general discharge from the army.
THE TRIAL
- The trial began on February 16, 2016, after several delays
- On may 5, 2016, franklin was found guilty on all counts
SENTENCING
- On June 6, 2016, the jury recommended the death penalty
- On august 10, franklin was sentenced on each count
HIS BEGINNING LIFE
- Not much is known about his early life, but he was born on august 30, 1952, in south central Los Angeles
HIS LATER LIFE
- After having a general discharge from the army in July,1975, he got married
- On July 7th, 2010, the LA times reported than an arrest had been made
THE ARREST
- The person that had been arrested was 57 year old Lonnie David franklin Jr.
- Even though the police never found exact DNA evidence, they believed it was enough to arrest Lonnie and convict him
The sentence was death by means of the state
