Team Leaders

  • Create a COPY of the "Unpacking TEKS" template shared with you.
  • Rename (suggestion use TEKS w/Skill or Unit)
  • Share the document will every member of your team (including specialists/SPED teachers as needed)

  • Time to choose a TEKS!
  • Look at your first Math KUD and choose a TEKS your team would like to unpack.

Next

  • Go to http://lead4ward.com/resources/ (you may want to leave this tab open we will use it more)
  • Find your grade level
  • Under "Snapshot" click on the "Math" hotlink

The Standard

  • Locate the TEKS on your Lead4ward Snapshot
  • Paste it into your document in the "Standard" section

Description

  • Find your DOK (Depth & Complexity) wheel
  • Read the standard you chose, locating all of the verbs within it.
  • Locate those verbs on the depth and complexity wheel and note the level
  • Add this information to your description
  • This is also a great time to list some ideas for your "I can..." statements! Remember to use kid friendly language.

Dig Deeper

  • Go to your Lead4ward tab (http://lead4ward.com/resources/)
  • Find your grade level
  • Click "math" under the "scaffolding" Column
  • It will open an Excel sheet which you can save to your desktop.
