Term 2 Learning Goals

  • Play a 1-string tune
  • Play a multi-string tune
  • Play a song that includes the chords C,F and G (or more)

Success Criteria for a 1-string song

  • Ukulele is being held in the proper position (flat against the chest) with good posture
  • Finger pressure on strings produces clear tones
  • Multiple fingers are used in a way to connect notes smoothly
  • Player only looks at fingers occasionally while playing
  • Song is memorized (Level 4)

Success Criteria for a multi-string song

  • Ukulele is being held in the proper position (flat against the chest) with good posture
  • Finger pressure on strings produces clear tones
  • Multiple fingers are used in a way to connect notes smoothly
  • Player only looks at fingers occasionally while playing
  • Song is memorized (Level 4)

Success Criteria for a song with chords C,F,G

  • Ukulele is being held in the proper position (flat against the chest) with good posture
  • Finger pressure on strings produces clear tones
  • Player only looks at fingers occasionally while playing
  • Transitions between chords are smooth and do not affect the rhythm.
  • All strings in the chord can be heard
  • Strumming pattern is consistent
  • Song is memorized (Level 4)
  • Melody is sung at the same time (Level 4+)
