My Background

  • Director of Post-Secondary Counseling for 12 Years in NYC
  • Professional Programs Coordinator in CS for 2 years
  • Student Information & Technology Manager @ SoN
  • Find me at the intersection of Student Services, Innovation, Data, and Technology
I have been incorporating technology into every aspect of my work for over thirteen years. I have used what I believe to be the most basic tools, to some of the most advanced. I am passionate about finding innovative applications of online tools and services.

I have worked with a wide variety of individuals with a range of skills. From the technologically inclined to the inept - I carefully consider the context in which a solution will be used.

There is a task,
or process
in which you regularly engage
that could be improved
using data
and some technology, service,
or tool to which you already
have access

The Philosophy

Believing this to be true even when it is not will lead to innovation

It is an endless pursuit for a better solution

Approaches Surmounts Tools

  • There is no one solution; there never was and the will never be. But, there is always an array of tools available which can be used to support your needs
  • Avoid over-investing in a tool or service without a way out
  • Do not hesitate to adopt a tool or service that shows promise
  • You & time are the two biggest obstacles
You & time are the two biggest obstacles you face

Addressing Concerns

  • Ease of Use & Adoptability
  • Cost
  • Unecessary Features (Social)
  • Development & Support
  • Mobility and Flexibility
I knew about (and experimented with) Trello for 2-3 years before using it

The more it gets used the more useful it will be

Approach it as the sole method for organizing project based information
