Water goes through the roots first.

Then the water travels up the xylem to get the water up the shoot. A xylem is like a straw or a tube.

Lastly, the water goes through the leaves.

Water exits through the stomates in the leaves, which are controlled by the guard cells.

Water come out of the stomates in the form of water vapor.

Transpiration is part of evaporation in the water cycle.

Two reasons transpiration is important is because of gas exchange. It also helps cool the plant, which will prevent it from overheating.

Vascular tissues and xylem are similar. They are similar because the xylem is a primary part of the vascular tissue.
