What is a Graphic Designer?

  • A graphic designer is a professional within the graphic design and graphic arts industry who assembles together images, typography, or motion graphics to create a piece of design. A graphic designer creates the graphics primarily for published, printed or electronic media, such as brochures (sometimes) and advertising.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 English (ENG4C or ENG4U or equivalent)
  • Three Grade 11 or Grade 12 C, M or U
  • $500 – art supply kit for the beginning of first semester
  • $200 to $500 per semester – textbooks, subscriptions, printing, and website costs.
  • Computer at home

Graphic design course

  • -The Graphic Design program at Humber College, will require you to do design courses, drawing courses, and other computer courses.

Afterwards

  • Go to Niagara College for their Graphic Design Program.
  • Requires OSSD and Grade 12 English Recommended courses are Visual Arts - Grade 11 or Grade 12 (M) or (O), and Art and Design Foundation program
  • Tuition: $5,353.02 for 1 year In province
  • $500 - $2,500 for 1 year for other fees
  • Receive Advanced Diploma

After graduation

I will apply to become a graphic designer, or work as a freelancer.
