TRANSCENDENTAL ART PROJECT
NONCONFORMITY
This picture incorporates nonconformity. MLK a historical icon for the civil rights movement. He stood up for equality of every man, black or white all equal. Going against society and standing up in what he believed in MLK a perfect example of nonconformity.
Self-reliance By: Norman Rockwel
Self-reliance; reliance on oneself. Rosie the Riveter the perfect example. She was an assembly working girl during world war II. She had to show self-reliance, and that women and others had to come and help with war. Take your own actions and help out.
A nazi general sitting and looking at the beauty of nature and alone to think for himself. When Nazis took free thought away from people. Banksy edited this painting of something beautiful in nature, and pared is with something that is seen as a wicked thing and made it innocent.
World War II such a scary time for the whole world. The American soldiers that put this flag up, showed confidence. How, because they didn't know when or where they will be killed, and by putting this flag up they showed confidence that they still believe in winning.
The importance of nature, when you notice the natural beauty around you and then in you self. I believe that this panting shows why nature is so important. Its so simple, a tree blossoming in the spring, showing new a beginning . Which relates to renewal of yourself. This is how this simple painting of a blossoming tree is important in a way of starting over with yourself.
When you look into a merrier are you happy with whats looking back at you? Not physically but personally... This panting of a man looking at the back of his head represents his confidence not with his looks but personally. I think that this art work is showing how a man is seeing what you never see, your back, and from that he is seeing his confidence from that. He is not looking in the merrier for his looks but for his confidence in himself.
When your true to your self thats when you are your best self. How this relates to transcendentalism; nonconformity, the humming bird the one colorful bird in the painting flying the opposite way of the mattered black birds. The humming bird seams to look happy, and by not following the flock of black birds the humming bird seams to be flourishing. This is how this painting is related to nonconformity.
A man alone, stopped in the rain looking off into the distance in awe. This painting showing free thought through a man that seems to have stopped and is having a memory or an idea. He is alone and free to think for himself, no other human distractions around him to alter his idea or to manipulate his opinion. When your alone you have only but your free thought.
Nature is a pure balance of good and bad, dark and light, life and death, and land and sea. Nature is at balance and this picture showing land and sea, light and dark, and life and death, shows how in nature everything compliments each other. With nature it is balanced and perfect. This is how I think this painting is showing the importance of nature. Nature is the one perfect thing on earth.
The Thinker, an iconic sculpture of a man thinking. Such a basic human man thinking... Why I believe he is naked is because the focus is supposed to be on the man thinking. He has free thought, nothing is distracting him, nothing is preventing him but himself. Free thought when you are alone with yourself when its just you and your body. This is how i believe this sculpture is related to free thought.
