  What do athletes have to do to succeed in track meets?

Why i run

  • I chose to run track an field because I wanted to become faster
  • As time went on I progressed into a better athlete
  • I have won several medals and awards over the past 7 1/2 years
  • I am in the Top Ten for the 4 by 100 meters(2013) in the U.S.A

Nutrition

Training

  • Athletes need to do some aerobic and anaerobic exercises  
  • Athletes usually practice 2-3 times week 
  • Training is typically 3 months out of a 5 month season

Examples of training

  • Athletes usually do push-ups for upper body strength 
  • Sit-ups are also another example of upper body strength
  • This training will make you stronger as an athlete

Need For Speed

  • In order to run fast you have to have endurance and stamina
  • Endurance allows you to run very fast for a long period of time
  • Stamina helps you to be strong and have power when you run

Track meets

  • Track meets will prep you for bigger races with faster people
  • Smaller track meets don't have many fast people at them usually
  • The faster you run the more likely you are to qualify for something bigger
