  • Look at the title. 
  • Based of the title what do you think the poem is about
  • Ex: A Dream within a Dream by Edgar Allen Poe. 
  • This poem is most likely about a dream that the narraor has had

  • Paraphrasing is putting it in your own words.
  • This may take one page or a whole page according to how long the poem is.

C is for connotation

  • Analyze the literary technique used.
  • Like simile, metaphor, personaification
  • irony.

A is for Attitude

  • Tone is the attitude the speaker has towards the subject
  • of the poem. 

S is for shift

  • Is there a change in time, tone or speaker?
