HOW THEY FORM

  • Air rotates because of wind shear
  • Faster spin makes a funnel cloud
  • The funnel rotates and touches down
  • Tornadoes form from thunderstorms that often grow to over 40,000 feet.
  • A column of warm humid air will begin to rise very quickly
