WHAT IS A TORNADO

  • A tornado is a violently rotating column of air that touches the Earths ground and the cumulus cloud

HOW TORNADOS FORM

  • They rotate because of the wind shear
  • Rotation happens when winds of 2 different altitudes blow at different speeds that creates a wind shear
  • If the column gets caught in a supercell updraft the updraft tightens and the spin and then it speeds up then a funnel cloud is crated
  • The rain and hail in the thunderstorm causes the funnel to touch the ground making a tornado

DESCRIPTION

  • It's a v looking shape that twist and moves
