FACTS ABOUT THE GREEN FLASH

  • The green flash can appear at sunrise and sunset, but it is more commonly seen at sunset
  • The atmosphere acts as a weak prism, which separates light into various colors
  • The three colors of light rays then overlap (red, green, and blue) the green light at the top of the sun, remains slightly visible.
  • Sometimes they appear more yellow, but very rarely they can appear blue!
