FACTS ABOUT THE GREEN FLASH
The green flash can appear at sunrise and sunset, but it is more commonly seen at sunset
The atmosphere acts as a weak prism, which separates light into various colors
The three colors of light rays then overlap (red, green, and blue) the green light at the top of the sun, remains slightly visible.
Sometimes they appear more yellow, but very rarely they can appear blue!

WHY THE AUTHOR INCLUDED THIS
To show how somethings can be both amazing, yet can be a bad sign
"Glimpse of ere the green ray, count the morrow a fine day." The green flash forecasted that it was going to be another dry day and she needed rain!

MOST IMPORTANT THING I LEARNED
I learned that the green flash can be seen anywhere.
If you don't have an ocean near you, you can also see them in prairies!
They are very rare and only the luckiest people can see them!
