BEFORE THE PANDEMIC

  • Before the pandemic my mom’s business was able to run smoothly with appointments being in person, seminars (training/in person courses) we’re running as normal
  • Open houses were held where the public can come and see your home that is listed for sale, with that there was lots of client interaction , as well as many paper handouts on tables
  • Everything was done in either a public place or the clients home

PROBLEMS/WHAT HAD TO CHANGE

  • When COVID-19 had started all open houses were minimize and had to be mostly through virtual tours as well as zoom calls to limit client interactions, when open houses were running there was a limit on how many people can enter the house at a time based on how big the house is as well as the space in the house. Immense amount of cleaning was done in between people coming in the house, masks were required as well as social distancing
  • A very big problem was a lot of people lost their jobs so there was less people buying houses because their finances were too low

SOLUTIONS/WHERE TO GO FROM HERE

  • Prioritizing who you see became a huge Factor with my mom‘s business and others, people who are more serious about needing a house or selling a house due to financial reasons or personal reasons were put first instead of people who were just looking casually for fun or for the far future.
  • Now business is running half the same, small open houses are allowed or virtual showings depending on the house owner as well as the house size, since so many jobs were lost a pent-up demand has created a busy market now as things have opened up as people become more wanting to buy or sell a house
  • At this current point in time seminars are still put on hold and are unsure when they will reopen
