PALEOLITHIC AGE

  • The first documented period of human history.
  • Humans developed the first tools. (Very basic)
  • Humans also discovered fire.

MESOLITHIC AGE

  • Second period in human history.
  • Based on the increase of technology of microliths.
  • The new technology allowed for an increase in leather work and basketry.
  • Tools were combined with other tools and refined for hunting.
  • all this new technology allowed for the domestication of plants and animals.

NEOLITHIC AGE

  • The third period of human history.
  • These new technologies allowed for the development of agriculture, thereby creating year-round settlements.
  • Stone tools were polished and refined.
  • As a result, people could become specialized in certain tasks.

BRONZE AGE

  • the earliest civili- zations began to develop.
  • metallurgy (the study and extraction of metal from ores) was developed.
  • Kilns where used to melt ores allowing metals to be refined.
  • Bronze was shaped and formed to do a range of tasks.

IRON AGE

  • Kilns could reach higher tempratures so iron was able to be formed.
  • Iron quickly became the primary metal for tools and weapons.
  • figurines and ornamental jewelry were also formed out of this new metal.
  • The creation of iron enabled society to dominate one another.

  • between the fall of the Roman Empire and the Renaissance.
  • The rise of an econamy based on money and capital was possible.
  • The vessels allowed merchants to buy and sell large amounts of goods, gain more money and power
