Why it was built?
It was built to help prevent flooding because of the scenery and old precious relics of China, and to produce hydro-electric power.

Three Gorges Dam is 607 ( 18501.36cm ) feet tall, and the top is 3,319 yards (303489.36 cm ) wide. It took 17 years to finish, the construction began in 1992.

The Three Gorges Dam, a hydropower dam, is an experiment for Chinese companies. Designed with 26 turbines, which supposedly creats18,000 megawatts of electricity, which is 26 times more powerful than Hoover Dam. As time goes, Chinese workers have, and still are figuring out ways to fix the problems that hydropower dams have, as these types of dams are being built around the world.
