EARLY LIFE
Was born on April 13,1743 in Shadwell, Virginia.
Jefferson lived on a plantation with slaves.
Jefferson studied ATD boarding and at Williams and Mary college in Williamsburg, Virginia .
In 1776 he became a lawyer.

He rose to a position in leadership in both his state and his nation.
The author of Declaration of Independence.
In 1775 with the American revolutionary war under way, Jefferson was selected as a delegate to the 2 continental congress.

After the Americans won independence from Great Britain Jefferson held political office almost continuously until his retirement in 1809.
Jefferson died on July 4,1826
In 1809 Jefferson retired to Monticello where he wrote,looked after his estate, and entertained friends.
