• He began his career in Newark, New Jersey
• He was the last of seven children from Samuel Ogden Edison

The lightbulb
Thomas Edison created the electic light bulb. The lightbulb is light passing an electric current he was not the first to create the light bulb, but they were short circuited. The reason his lightbulb was so different was because it lasted longer because of carbonized bamboo filament which lasted 1,200 hrs. A quote from Edison, " we will make electricity so cheap that only the rich will burn candles."
