INTRO:
My name is Megan Blackwell. My book is “This Side of Paradise” by Scott F. Fitzgerald.

ESSENTIAL QUESTION:
My essential question is why must maturity alter our worldview?

ARTICLE OVERVIEW:
My article is about views formed while you are young and how they change as you get older. As you get older your views of the world develop as you see things in a different way. Most people have worldviews, the lens they view they world through, combined together with others to create their own view. We typically develop our worldview when we are young, then perfect it as we grow to the place where it is when we are adults. Our views most often come from experiences and influential people in our lives when we were young. Then, when we are growing up, we filter things in and out to form our own, personal worldview.

CONNECTION TO NOVEL:
As a selfish, young child, Amory, the main character starts to view how he views the world. He is selfish therefore in his mind the world revolves around him and everything in it to benefit him. As he goes about this journey, he starts to lose hope in himself and his motivation and his outlook on life changes. When he was younger, it was full of mystery, but now it’s full of disappointments. As he grows older, he is still self-absorbed and views everything as to benefit him. Finally, he matures with age and he realizes his past mistakes and starts to realize he isn’t the center of everything.
