Rising Action- Maisie tries out for the cheer leading squad but doesn't get selected so she chases Miss Strickland's car to ask why she didn't make it on the team. Then she joins the wrestling team because Eric Delong is on the team (she likes Eric). She goes to wrestling practice everyday and tries hard but her teammates, who are all boys aren't trying or letting her win for the fun of it.

She tries to talk to Eric, but Liz or Lizard as Maisie calls her, makes it as difficult as possible for Maisie to talk to him, because Liz and Eric are dating. Maisie goes to the gym to play basketball, because she use to play basketball, and gets in a game of P.I.G. with Eric and wins, but possibly lost her chance with Eric.

Climax- Maisie plays P.I.G. with Eric again and lets him win to let him feel good, so that he will not hate her. Then boys start to wrestle her but she uses an illegal move and hurts someone. After that nobody wants to wrestle her. She starts going to matches against other schools and all the boys forfeit. One of the boys forfeited and she calls him a chicken, then she gets made fun of because her statement.

She finally gets a boy to wrestle her and loses but she was happy just to wrestle. She lost two matches in a row. She finally gets a date with Eric because Eric and Lizard broke up. Eric takes things to fast and Maisie leaves. She returns home to find her lizard is missing and she blames it on her brother's friend Tank. Tank runs home and almost gets hit by a snowplow. Maisie was able to grab him before he was hit by the snowplow, which saved him from getting hurt. Maisie became a hero.

Falling Action: Maisie gets mad that her lizard is gone and starts to throw a fit. She has a wrestling match the next day, and her goal is to stay in the match for more than 1 period. During her match she reaches her goal but is losing 2-1, during the final period she loses with 3 seconds left. When she gets home her mom finds her lizard in the mail box.

Resolution: Maisie saves Tank and everyone likes her again because it was in the newspaper.

Summary- Maisie tries out for wrestling because she didn't make the cheer-leading squad. She starts wrestling and when she starts wrestling in matches the boys forfeit to her. She gets made fun of for calling one of the boy wrestlers a chicken for not wrestling her. When the boys start to wrestle her she loses. Once Eric and Lizard break up, Maisie and Eric go on a date but she goes home early because Eric is taking things to fast.

When Maisie goes home Maisie blames Tank for losing her lizard and Tank runs home. While Tank runs home he almost gets hit by a snowplow but Maisie grabs him to hold him from getting hit. Maisie became a hero.
