Drafting

  • Introduction-Get me excited
  • Thesis-What is the point?
  • Body-Facts, details, opinions, examples, and support
  • Conclusion-Restate, summarize your essay, and finish strong
Introduction starts with a hook. This is a technique used to get the reader's attention. Some techniques are: starting with a question, using a bold statement, using a statistic, starting with a definition, or using an anecdote.
Thesis is part of the introductory paragraph that gives a one sentence description of what your essay is about specifically.
