Have your ever wondered how one learns to read, write, or solve a math problem? To play the piano or play a game?

Most of us learn by seeing the task or problem and working out a solution in our minds or on paper. Seeing what is presented to us helps with identifying what is being taught or said.

Visual learners need to process information by illustrations (graphs, pictures, etc.) to properly sink the information into our minds.

That does not mean we do not get what is being said. Our minds tend to absorb more by visual stimulation.

I like textbooks instead of audio material because I can see what

I am reading for it to process in my mind.

The visual learner often finds themselves bored and needs a change of scenery, so does the mind in processing the information which can lead to soaking up what is being said or presented. Taking short breaks keeps the mind clear and refreshed.

We have the tendency to get distracted by clutter at our work stations and that usually means we lose our concentration in what we are learning.

Keeping a clean, tidy desk area we can learn easier and concentrated on the work at hand.

The online versus a physical classroom can be tricky to the visual learner.

In the physical classroom you can see your classmates, teacher, and lessons on a whiteboard pertaining to the subject and you are getting the visual stimuli but the online learner you are only seeing what shows on your computer screen.

Yes, you are still seeing the assignments and what your classmates and instructor is saying, but the stimulation is different. You do not have the physical presence of the class and seeing the presentation of the lesson. You are on your own and that takes getting used to.

So visual learners need to see what is being said or taught to absorb the information and if it means taking notes, or looking at pictures,

well, we will take the information in front of us and use it to our best ability in learning.
