UK HISTORY

  • The United Kingdom is a very famous country. It's famous for the singers, clothing, food, and accent. But it wasn't like this long ago. It was actually pretty rough for the country to get started. Simon Schama said,"What began as a hostile merger would end in a full partnership in the most powerful going concern in the world.... It was one of the most astonishing transformations in European history." The creation of Great Britain began during the War of the Spanish Succession. Just before William the 3rd died, he reenabled the Grand Alliance against France. His successor, Anne, continued the war after he passed away. France almost came crashing down in 1709.
