Fractured Fairy Tale

PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Once upon a time, a man and his wife were roasting a chicken.

They lived on the top floor of the tallest building in their city, so when the chicken was done, they took it out to the balcony to eat.

They were admiring the view and letting the chicken cool when they heard a knock at the door.

"Son, let me in, I could use a drink."

The man turned to his wife and whispered, "Oh no, it's my father, we must not let him know we are here, else he'll want some of this chicken."

"Son, don't leave your father out here to suffer this thirst." The couple stayed silent.

Then, the door was violently ripped off its hinges and thrown against the wall. The couple turned to watch the father enter their abode. The father walked towards them nonchalantly, as if he hadn't just blown their door in.

"Son,"
"Yes father?"
"Why didn't you let me in?"

"We didn't hear you father, I swear." At this moment the father noticed that his son was trying to hide a roasted chicken behind his back.

"Didn't want to share your chicken did you?" The father said.
"No father, you don't understand."
"Enough," the father replied. "I am ashamed to have to call such an ungrateful man my son."

At this moment the father pointed at the chicken and it became a large, green toad.

The wife jumped out of her chair in fright, stumbled, and fell over the railing and off the balcony. A thud could be heard in the distance as she collided with the ground.

The father turned toward the toad and pointed again. The toad hopped onto the mans face. "This toad will stay on your face for the rest of your life," the father said, "You'll have to feed it all day and all night, else it'll make food of your flesh."

"Oh and you'll never find another wife due to your appearance," the father said as he walked out of the home, a glass of water in his hand. And thus, the ungrateful son went through life knowing no love or rest.
