THE TURTLE AND THE RABBIT
The rabbit loved to tease the turtle about its slowness.
The turtle was tired of the teasing and one day, he challenged the rabbit to a race. The rabbit laughed when he heard this but agreed to the race.
The race began and the rabbit immediately ran ahead of the turtle. The turtle continued to walk as quickly as it could. The rabbit knew that it would win the race and so he rested under a big tree and waited for the turtle to catch up.
However, the weather was so hot that the rabbit soon fell asleep. Time passed, and the rabbit eventually woke up. It was almost evening.
The rabbit couldn’t see anyone and raced ahead to the f inish line but it was too late! The turtle was waiting there, smiling. T he turtle had beaten the rabbit in a race!
Effort and determination will win in the end.
