  • The opening engagements of the American Revolution
  • It happen on April 19, 1775
  • Took place at Lexington and Concord

  • The people who were involved are S. Adams, J. Hancock, P. Revere, W. Dawes
  • British troops embarked on Boston at night to capture two patriots leaders 
  •  73 British soldiers were killed,174 were wounded, and 26 were missing
  • The British troops destroyed some arsenals in Concord

  • During the 20-mile retreat, American Minutemen harassed the British
  • The Gulf War, Iraq War, and Afghanistan War are wars for democracy
  • Lots of soldiers have died fighting for what they believe

  • It happen on September and October 1777 
  • It took place at Saratoga, New York
  • The people are Major General Horatio Gates, General Philip Schuyler, and
  • Lieutenant General John Burgoyne

  • General John Burgoyne wanted to invade America from the North vie Canada 
  • 600 British and 150 Americans were killed or wounded
  • New York is a critical piece of land for trades in the United States
  • This victory gave new life to the American cause at a critical time

  • US sends aid in the form of food, medicine, and supplies to it allies

  • Final battle that ended the American Revolution and gave independence 
  •  October 19, 1781 
  • Took place at Yorktown

  • The people are General Lord Cornwallis, Henry Clinton, Marquis de Lafayette
  • General Anthony Wayne, Frederick William, Freiherr(baron) von Steuben,  
  • George Washington, and De Grasse
  • The British ships sent from New York never arrived to aid General Conwallis
