GOOD THINGS ABOUT THE SOLAR ECLIPSE

  • A milestone
  • During the day it would look very dark in some places like Nashville because it is in the path of totality
  • Schools go outside so everyone can see the solar eclipse

BAD THINGS ABOUT THE SOLAR ECLIPSE

  • Animals like bats and frogs would think it is nighttime so they would be out and hunting
  • Animals like hawks and lizards will sleep through the day
  • Street lights turned on when it was dark and street lights cause pollution. Most lights have LED now, but it still pollutes

People wear special glasses called eclipse glasses. You need these to see the eclipse safely

I THINK THIS ARTICLE Is NEWSWORTHY BECAUSE:

  • The last total solar eclipse in the United States was in June 8th, 1918
  • It can really damage people's eyes

I chose to look through the geographical lens because the solar eclipse is a natural thing that occurred

Other facts

As you can see here, the moon covers the sun so it is not bright outside. The edge of the sun is called the corona.

From earth, we can only see the sun’s corona.

We all know that the sun is bigger than the moon. They look the same size but they are so much further away from each other so from earth it looks near the same size but really they are just far away from each other.

SOLAR ECLIPSE GOING OVER THE U.S.A

  • Everyone in the United States will at least see a partial eclipse
  • The solar eclipse comes across the United States starting in Oregon and going from west to east

QUESTION I COULDN’T FIND THE ANSWER TO

  • How does the solar eclipse damage somebody eyes if it is only the corona they are seeing?
  • What does the solar eclipse look like from space?
