CARBOHYDRATES

  • Carbohydrates are our main source of energy
  • There are two types- Simple, and Complex
  • Is a MACRO nutrient

PROTEIN

  • You need protein to grow!
  • Protein builds and repairs body tissue
  • One of the main (and complete) sources of protein is meat!
  • Is a MACRO nutrient

FAT

  • Three types-unsaturated, saturated, and trans-fat
  • Carries fat soluble vitamin
  • Is a MACRO nutrient

FOOD WITH HEATHY FAT

  • Olive oil
  • Peanut butter
  • Seeds(like almonds, pumpkin seeds, pecans, etc.)
  • Oils
  • Fish(Like salmon, tuna, etc)
  • And more!

FOOD WITH UNHEALTHY FAT

  • Butter
  • Ice Cream
  • Cheese
  • Processed meat like pepperoni
  • High fat meat like roast beef
  • As well as more not listed!

VITAMINS

  • Helps body use energy
  • Regulates body process
  • Is a Micro nutrient

MINERALS

  • Main 3- Calcium, iron, and potassium
  • Found in all living things
  • Like vegetables and meat
  • Whole grains, and dairy products
  • They are a micro nutrient

  • Helps regulate body temperature
  • Maintains heathy skin
  • Makes up more than 60% body mass
  • Water is a micro nutrient
