PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Setting
The setting mostly takes place in the palace. The palace is where the selection is held. Also for part of the book they are in Columbia, Americas hometown.
Main Characters
America Singer- America is 17 with red hair. She is a 5 (caste). She applies for the selection because her mom made her, no intentions of falling in love with the prince. But all time goes on those intentions may change.
Main Character 2
Maxon Shrive- Maxon is 19 with blonde hair. He is the price of Illiea and is looking for his wife. He draws 35 girls to enter the selection. Then he will pick his wife. He immediately falls for one girl, will she become his future wife?
Aspen Leaguer- Aspen is 17 with dark hair. He is a 6 (caste) He is Americas boyfriend and after 2 years they break up right before she heads off to the selection. Soon he becomes a guard at the castle and falls i love with American again.. Will America choose Aspen or Maxon?
Plot and Conflict
The selection is where the prince finally gets to choose his wife. Girls from all over the country sign up but only 35 will get chosen to go to the castle and possibly become a queen. America Singer is one of these girls. But she is still in love with her ex boyfriend form home, Aspen. Will America be able to move on and possibly become Maxons wife? Or will she decide to stay with Aspen?
The main conflict in this book is America choosing between Aspen and Maxon. She soon falls in love with both men, but in the end which one will she choose?
Theme
If you love someone let them free.
This occurs in this book because America had to make the decision of the one she loved as a friend to let him free and the one she really loved, and marry him.
