PRESENTATION OUTLINE

THE ROBBERY OF BELMONT BANK

By: Libby Pinkelton

THe Crime

  • The Belmont Bank in Englewood, Florida, was robbed $1,000,000.
  • The crime was discovered at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, November 12th and the bank closed at 5:00 p.m. the previous day.

Suspects

  • Mr. Albert Greenspan
  • Mr. Elwood Smith
  • Dirsey Flowers
  • Miss Ellington
  • Mr. Howard Ellington

Mr. ALbert greenspan

  • Mr. Greenspan was the president of the bank. He had left before the robbery was discovered, but was arrested in the airport in Mexico City on the day of the robbery. He had a set of the keys to the bank, but did not commit the crime because he only left town to get away from his wife.

Mr. elwood Smith

  • Mr. Elwood was the janitor of the bank and had disappeared. The authorities went to talk to his daughter, but she had not seen in over a week. He did have keys to the bank, but he did not commit the crime because there was not evidence or a motive for him to have robbed the bank.

Dirsey flowers

  • Dirsey Flowers was a hippie that had been hanging around the bank a day before the robbery was discovered. He specialized in electronics in college, but he did not commit the crime because he was set up and because he had no motive to commit the crime.

Miss Ellington

  • Miss Ellington was a teller at the bank and was the person who discovered the crime. She maintained the bank's cash hold and had borrowed the keys to the bank before. Miss Ellington did commit the crime.

Mr. Howard Ellington

  • Mr. Howard Ellington was the brother to Miss Ellington and worked at the Acme Construction Company. He was in charge of the dynamite. Mr. Ellington did commit the crime with his sister, Miss Ellington.

how it was done

  • Miss Ellington got the keys from Mr. Greenspan by telling him she was staying to do work, but after he left she disabled the security system. She got her brother to bring down dynamite from his work to blow up the vault. The reason why her brother saw Mr. Smith running from the bank was because he was headed to the bank. They blew up the vault and put the money away where only they knew where it was. Miss Ellington came back the next morning to work and discovered the crime so no one would suspect anything from her. They blamed the crime on Dirsey Flowers because he had been hanging out around the bank and Acme. The two of them will be going to jail for what they did.

THANKS!
