2.
METRIC SYSTEM
A DECIMAL SYSTEM USED FOR MEASURING.
I chose this picture, because like the start button on a computer, it is an important system to help get you where you need to be.

3.

HOW MUCH SPACE AN OBJECT TAKES UP.
Volume has two different meanings, but is spelled the same!

4.
MASS
HOW MUCH MATTER IS IN SOMETHING.
There is quote a mass of people waiting to see this new movie... I wonder what it is...

5.
LENGTH
THE DISTANCE FROM TWO THINGS.
I always think of a birds' wing span when I see the word "length".

6.
MATTER
THE THINGS THAT MAKE UP EVERYTHING!
I think that the photographer was trying hard not to break these glass pieces while taking photos of them. I'm sure they matter to someone!

7.
TEMPERATURE
HOW MUCH HEAT IS IN SOMETHING.
I'm pretty sure a thermometer wouldn't be super helpful in this situation...

Celsius. Sounds like census!

9.
GRAM
A UNIT USED FOR MEASURING WEIGHT.
I think this one is pretty easy to figure out. Who doesn't love graham crackers?!

10.
LITER
USED FOR MEASURING LIQUIDS.
Liter. Also sounds like litter! A liter of litter - try saying that 10 times fast!
11.
METER
A UNIT OF MEASUREMENT.
I'm a vegetarian (seriously). I thing this meal looks a little meatier (meter) than I prefer...

12.
BALANCE
TOOL USED FOR MEASURING MASS.
Imagine how hard it is to balance rocks like that! I doubt this is how we'll be measuring in Earth Science this year, though.
13.
SCALE
TOOL USED FOR MEASURING WEIGHT.
OUCH! I have a huge stomachache. What number on the pain scale are you?
14.
THERMOMETER
TOOL USED FOR MEASURING TEMPERATURE.
I also doubt that meteorologists went to every country, stuck a thermometer in the ground, and made this map!
15.
RULER
TOOL USED FOR MEASURING LENGTHS.
Aren't lions rulers of the jungle?

BEAKER
TOOL USED FOR MEASURING LIQUIDS.

17.
GRADUATED CYLINDER
TOOL USED FOR MEASURING LIQUIDS ACCURATELY.
Well, there aren't many puns or references I can make for a graduated cylinder, so I included an informational comic about them instead.
18.
FLASK
ANOTHER TOOL USED FOR MEASURING LIQUIDS.
This isn't the tool we'll be using this year, but they sure can be helpful on long road trips!
