MONOPOLY LEADERS
The leaders lead companies that owned factories. They were at the top of the middle class.

In the 1800 3% of the world population lived in urban centers. While only 2% existed in rural areas.

WOMEN AND CHILDREN
The women and children worked alongside the men in the factories. The children were known to be the prime need for factories because they were young and didn't argue about the long hours and low wages. They were also small so they were able to fit between the machines. The women had to work hard, first they had to work long hours in the factories and then do domestic work in their houses.

NEW SOCIAL CLASSES

  • The upper middle class
  • The lower middle class

GOALS OF THE TRADE UNIONS

  • Trade unions gathered employees
  • They fought to be paid higher
  • Were created to help employees get fair pay
  • Fought for better working conditions and lower hour
