THERE IS A LOT OF CHILDREN IN AFGHANISTAN, BUT VERY LITTLE CHILDHOOD
When Amir was growing up Afghanistan was a place where children didn't know the sound of gunfire. It was a peaceful place, I choose this picture to show how his childhood in Afghanistan was innocent.
I picked this because through out the book Amir was always jealous of Hassan because baba seemed to have a love for Hassan that he didn't have for Amir.
I chose this photo because after Amir witnesses Hassan getting rapped, he is torn on wither to say anything. Amir always has pain and guilt in his heart, he tears himself up about the choice he made
THERE WAS SO MUCH GOODNESS IN MY LIFE,I WONDERED IF I DESERVED IT
Amir talks about how he has an amazing life yet he has done nothing to deserve it. He is trying to find ways to make up for the bad things he has done but he never finds a way to forgive himself.
I SEE AMERICA HAS INFUSED YOU WITH THE OPTIMISM OF CHANGE
After moving to America Amir learns that time heals things, even though the pain from Afghanistan is still in his heart, America is a new beginning for him.
When he comes back to Kabul he is faced with a city unfamiliar to him. Memories from his past are hidden under the grave and crushed building on the road. Hassan is allowed Kabul and Amir knows he will never see him again.
