PRESENTATION OUTLINE

THE KAABA

BY ETHAN KLUTHE

The Kaaba is a cube shaped building that is very important to the Islamic faith. It is believed that Muhammad blessed the site. It is in the direction of the Kaaba that the faith prays towards. In all the mosques there are symbols that point the way to the Kaaba so they know which direction to pray at. Every able person of the faith must visit it at least once in their lifetime.

It is believed the Abraham and his son ismael made the Kaaba, though at first it was only a sanctuary. Though they were later kicked out of the city. After the tribes became fully Islam, they took Mecca back and the Kaaba became a holy symbol for the faith.

As different rulers took control they changed the Kaaba and the area around the Kaaba. There were renovations that made it sturdier, and restorations to make it closer to what Abraham had originally designed. They also expanded the area around it so that more people could access it at the same time. At one point there was even a school leaning against it.

The Kaaba is an important part of the Islamic faith. It was made by Abraham and his son Ismael. It is a holy site made by the ancestor of the faiths founder. 2 of the 5 pillars of the Islamic faith are dedicated towards it. They must visit it at least once in their life, and they must pray towards it twice a day.
