In 1993 census of members jumped from 50,000 to over 2 million. Then in 1936 there were 5.4 million members until it became mandatory in 1939.
Removed teachers who were deemed "unfit" to carry out the Nazi teachings.
Textbooks changed to talk about Naziism and often described the feelings of a new child seeing his leader for the first time.
Must join in the ages 10-17.
Boys were forced to join the armed forces or the Reich Labor Service at 18.
