HISTORY OF THE HOLOCAUST

BY;YUSRA, SARAH, ZANEERAH, FAISAL

Why Did the Holocaust Start?

When Jesus Christ died, 2,000 years ago, Christians started to separate from the Jews. The Jews thought that their religion was the only correct one, which angered the nazis. Hitler and the Nazis were all Christians and thought that Jews should not be allowed to live. They wanted to kill all Jews to show that they were wrong. They set up murder camps, killing thousands of Jews.

The result of the Holocaust
The result of the Holocaust was horrible. The Nazis started to kill the Jews. They treated the Jews even worse than slaves, like animals. The Nazis started to put the Jews in prisons and many families were separated from each other. They used to experiment on their bodies. The Jews had numbers tattooed on their skin so the Nazis knew who they were. They also used to gather up all the Jews and take of their clothes, and used to shoot them without even hesitating. Millions of Jews were murdered and barely any Jews were left compared to the huge amount there used to be. Anne Frank was one of the famous Jew who also was a prisoner, you might know her, she wrote a diary about her life.

How Was the Holocaust Resolved

The Holocaust finally ended when Britain forces forced the Nazis to surrender. Other countries joined Britain so Hitler started to lose the war so he and his wife committed suicide. (Hitler was the leader of the Nazis and was also in World War II, by the way) The British gave the Jews Shelter, food, clothes, etc and the sick started to go to hospitals and some Jews came out of hiding. It wasn't really glorious because the war was still going on but that was the best thing that happened to the Jews in a long time.

What Was Done to Prevent the Holocaust from Happening Again
Many actions were made to prevent the Holocaust from happening again. Most countries were given freedom of religion, and buildings such as churches were built. Newspapers were also printed that told everybody of the Nazis treachery. A man named Karski was also involved. He helped everyone to get united and defeat the Nazis. The Nazis also begged Britain to give them one million Jews for ten thousand trucks. Their offer was denied, and the British diplomat replied,"What would I do with a million Jews?" Some people don't like other religions, but something as big as the Holocaust will ever happen again.
