global domestic violence
Domestic violence is abuse by the hands of someone who is closely related

It goes on in paris too
In Paris, half of 625 victims in 9 years died by a partner
A woman dies by domestic violence every 5 days
10% of a group of 7,000 women were victims of domestic violence
5.
What causes it?
There are many causes to this kind of abuse
One spouse may feel the need to dominate the other for no reason
A member of a couple may have pent up anger, and will release it
There are cases where someone has low self-esteem, and wants to prove thems
6.
what are some outcomes?
There are a variety of results of abuse
Mental trauma is a common effect, and it happens with all ages
Kids who experience abuse will grow up thinking violence is ok

Internal and external health problems are an obvious result
7.
How are we gonna fix it?
We need solutions to domestic violence as soon as possible
We could create a support group to report abuse (police, students, administ
We could teach people a plan on how to react to domestic violence (police)
A student march could be set up to stop abuse (students, volunteers)
8.
What will work the best?
Teaching people how to respond is the best option
People will know how to respond on their own
Victims will report cases now that they know how
They can share their knowledge with others
9.
how are we going to do it?
Set up a location, funding, time, and an objective
Develop a sheet to gather victim info for emergencies
Recruit volunteers to help run seminars
Post info from #1 to get more volunteers
Hand out documents from #2 to victims/volunteers
10.
how are we going to do it? continued
During the seminars, explain the dangers of abuse
Encourage attendees to share their knowledge
Repeat steps 5-6 at each seminar
11.
What if...
...people find the information stupid?
...people won't share the information?
...victims don't come out?
12.
It's still the best option
The data and statistics show that abuse is a serious issue
The volunteers can share info if victims won't
Volunteers can gain school community and service
Victims will be given a safe environment to live in
