  • Co-lead vocalist, and guitarist
  • Wrote many of the deeper, less popular songs.
  • Used his classic, scratchy rock/pop voice
  • Sang lead in many of their most famous hits

PAUL MCCARTNEY

  • Co-lead vocalist and left handed guitarist
  • Wrote and sang many of their hits with John
  • Known for his soft, smooth, sexy, and clean voice.

GEORGE HARRISON

  • Back up guitarist and bassist
  • Back up vocalist, but sang and played lead on many songs too
  • Made use of many foreign instruments they encountered on tours
  • Sang the greatest song ever: "Here Comes the Sun"

RINGO STARR

  • Played drums for the group
  • Back up singer as well
  • Also sang and wrote a few popular songs
  • Such as: "Octopus' Garden"

FORMATION

  • The group was originally formed under a different name
  • Paul joined at age 15, and Harrison later, youner than any other member
  • Ringo joins the emerging band after they record some of their original hits
  • Lennon formed band in highschool with a few friends
  • The group evolved, took on the final 4 members, and was the "Beatles"

POPULARITY

  • They began playing in small pubs
  • As they continued to mature and write more hit singles,
  • They became exponentially popular with raging teenage fans
  • As well as adults for their trancendentalist and fun pop/rock sound

BEATLEMANIA

  • After releasing over 20 #1 hit singles,
  • and having 11/12 albums reach #1 as well,
  • They developed a enormous fan base
  • Primarily consisting of teenage girls from the UK and US
  • Performed on many US stages and shows, most popularly on the Ed Sullivan Show

BEST BAND OF ALL TIME

  • The Beatles, in their time, and still today, were and are the greatest act in the pop/rock
  • era and all music in general, and have introduced more popular musical and cultural
  • innovations than any other musical act in the history of humanity.
  • They are, and always will be, unsurpassable in terms of collective creativty,
  • harmony of voices and musical style, and overall popularity and love in the eyes of their fans
